Rules and Regulations
Eligibility for Admission

M.Sc. Audiology (M.Sc. (Aud.))

Duration: 2 Years (4 Semesters)

Eligibility Criteria

  • • Pass in BASLP / B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) / BSLH from a university recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
  • • Minimum 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent)
  • • Completion of Internship / Additional Internship / Clinical Experience as per RCI norms

Admission Process

  1. Online Application: Upload BASLP mark card/ Degree Provisional/ Internship certificate and supporting documents.
  2. Merit-Based Selection: Based on marks obtained in qualifying exam or the Entrance Examination conducted by Osmania University.
  3. Physical Counselling: Conducted by the Director of Admissions, Osmania University.
  4. Completion of Admission Formalities: Final verification and confirmation of admission.

B.ASLP (Bachelor’s in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology)

Duration: 4 Years (3 Years Academic Study + 10 months Internship)

Eligibility Criteria

  • • Completion of 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized State or Central Board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • • Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, English
  • • One additional subject from: Biology / Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics / Electronics / Psychology
  • • Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination and awaiting results are eligible to apply for admission. They must produce the certificate of results/mark sheet on or before the notified date.
  • • Minimum age: 17 years on 31st December of the year of advertisement. Upper age relaxation as per government rules.
  • • Eligible foreign candidates must follow University/Institute guidelines and produce a medical fitness certificate.

Admission Process

  1. Online Application: Upload 10+2 mark card and supporting documents.
  2. Merit-Based Selection: Based on 10+2 marks or the Entrance Examination conducted by Osmania University.
  3. Physical Counselling: Conducted by the Director of Admissions, Osmania University.
  4. Completion of Admission Formalities: Final verification and confirmation of admission.

Post Graduate Diploma in Early Intervention (PGDEI)

Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates with 50% marks in any of the following:
    • • MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BNYS
    • • BOT, BPT, BASLP, B.Ed.–Special Education
    • • B.Sc. Nursing
    • • Postgraduates in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Child Development

Admission Process

  1. Online Application: Upload BASLP mark card/ Degree Provisional/ Internship certificate and supporting documents.
  2. Merit-Based Selection: Based on marks obtained in qualifying exam or the Entrance Examination conducted by Osmania University.
  3. Physical Counselling: Conducted by the Director of Admissions, Osmania University.
  4. Completion of Admission Formalities: Final verification and confirmation of admission.
Attandance

Minimum attendance shall be as stipulated by the respective University where the students are studying. However, attendance shall not be less than 80% in theory and 90% in Clinical/ Practicals in each semester to be eligible to appear for examination at the end of each semester.

Candidates who cannot appear for the examination for want of attendance will be declared as failed and will have to repeat the particular semester to be eligible to appear for exams subsequently.

Condonation of shortage of attendance in genuine cases shall be from the ViceChancellor of the respective University where the candidates are studying.

Creteria for passing

The student is required to obtain a minimum of 55% in each of the theory papers, internal assessment, practical and clinical exams for a pass. Students will not be able to appear for University theory exam if they do not pass in their practical, internal assessment or clinical component. Students will have to pass the clinical examination of the given semester to proceed to the next semester.

Carry-over of papers

Each paper should be successfully completed within 3 attempts including the first one.

Students can start internship after the 6th semester exams. However, students who fail in their clinical exam of 6th semester will have to discontinue internship. The candidates are permitted to carry over the theory courses until the end of the program.

Others

Clinical Internship:

All candidates shall complete a clinical internship of one academic year (10 months) after the 6th semester. The rules and regulations of clinical internship shall be as in Annexure 2.

Infrastructure for starting the course:

Only those institutions which have the infrastructure as given in Annexure 3 can start the B.ASLP program after due formalities.

Award of Degree:

The University shall award the degree and issue certificate only after the candidates successfully complete all the University examinations and clinical internship.

Others:

On all other issues not mentioned in these rules and regulations like the pattern of question paper, grading, award of grace marks, and declaration of rank, among others, the rules and regulations of the respective University shall prevail.
